Christopher is a winner of HighTide’s First Commissions Award. His 2018 debut, Build A Rocket, was Richard Jordan’s pick as ‘the best new British play of the year’ in The Stage. It won the Holden Street Theatre’s Edinburgh Fringe Award, ran at Stephen Joseph Theatre, HighTide Festival and Pleasance London. It will be seen at Adelaide Fringe Festival and tour UK again in 2019. The Stephen Joseph Theatre also commissioned Chris’s play All Delighted People which was presented in 2018 to celebrate forty years of youth theatre in Scarborough.
He also adapted and directed Edgar Allan Poe’s classic The Pit & The Pendulum for Creation Theatre at The Bodleian Library, Oxford and Clapham Omnibus Theatre in 2018. He has a new play in development with Arts Council support – 212 takes inspiration from the Walthamstow Bus Incident of 2015. It is a brilliant lyrical ensemble piece based around a multicultural, working class London community. Excerpts were featured at The Bunker and Theatre Deli.
