Kate is Artistic Director of Stockroom in London, a writers room for theatre. Stockroom Artists produce new work for midscale stages around the country.
Previously she founded and was Artistic Director of The Other Room in Cardiff, winner of The Stage Awards Fringe Theatre of the Year 2016, the Olwen Wymark WGGB Award for its work supporting playwrights and several Wales Theatre Awards. The Other Room was also nominated for the 2017 Peter Brook Empty Space Award.
Recent Directing credits include: The Glee Club, Rita, Sue and Bob Too for Out of Joint, The Rise and Fall of Little Voice (Theatr Clwyd, Last Christmas (Traverse Theatre, Sherman Theatre, Theatr Clwyd, Edinburgh Fringe, Soho Theatre), The Barnbow Canaries (West Yorkshire Playhouse), Sand, The Dying of Today, Blasted (The Other Room) .
Kate began her career as Associate Director at Finborough Theatre where she ran the New Writing department and co-created the Vibrant! New Writing Festival. Whilst there she premiered plays by writers including James Graham and Nick Gill. Subsequently she became Director of New Plays and Associate Director at Clwyd Theatre Cymru.
