Kate is Artistic Director of Out of Joint.
Previously she founded and was Artistic Director of The Other Room in Cardiff – winner of Fringe Theatre of the Year 2016 (The Stage Awards), several Wales Theatre Awards and the Olwen Wymark Award from the WGGB for its work supporting playwrights. The Other Room was also nominated for the 2017 Peter Brook Empty Space Award.
Kate began her career as Associate Director at Finborough Theatre where she ran the New Writing department and co-created the Vibrant! New Writing Festival. Whilst there she premiered plays by writers including James Graham and Nick Gill. Subsequently she became Director of New Plays and Associate Director at Clwyd Theatre Cymru.
She has been a judge for the National Theatre Playwriting Prize and jointly edited, with Tim Price, Contemporary Welsh Plays Volume One. Her recent directing credits include:
